Alena Buyx

Dr. Buyx received her Dr. med. degree in August of 2005 from the University of Muenster, Germany. She also received a master’s degree in philosophy, also from the University of Muenster, in October of 2005. For her master’s research, Dr. Buyx focused on theories of justice in health care and just allocation in the health care system. Currently, Dr. Buyx is Senior Researcher in health care and medical ethics at the Institute for Ethics, History and Philosophy of Medicine, at the University of Münster, where she engages in research and teaching. During her term with the Program in Ethics and Health, Dr. Buyx will work with members of the faculty on research regarding justice in health care, particularly around personal responsibility and priority-setting.
