J. Paul Kelleher, PhD

Paul Kelleher received his PhD in philosophy from Cornell University in 2007. His dissertation concerned the political liberalism/perfectionism debate in political philosophy.

During his fellowship, Dr. Kelleher will investigate normative issues in the social distribution of health care and other resources bearing on health outcomes. A main focus will be whether and how a conception of equality of opportunity can serve as the primary basis for health-related duties between compatriots. Dr. Kelleher’s other research interests include the legitimacy of conscientious refusals, by health care professionals, to provide legal medical and pharmaceutical services.
