Ole Frithjof Norheim
Dr. Norheim is a Professor of Medical Ethics in the Section for Medical Ethics, in the Department of Public Health and Primary Health Care, at the University of Bergen, Norway, and Consultant physician in the Department of Medicine, Haukeland University Hospital.
Dr. Norheim is a medical doctor with a Ph.D. in medical ethics (the ethics of resource allocation in health care). Currently, he is involved in projects concerning priority setting in Tanzania and Uganda building on previous research experience from the Norwegian and European health care systems (Funded by a 5-year Young Investigators Award (YFF) from the Norwegian Research Council). He was Chair of the board of The International Society for Priorities in Health Care (2005-2008), and Secretary for the Norwegian commission on new guidelines for priority setting (White paper 1997). Dr. Norheim has broad experience as a lecturer including medical ethics and international health.
