Dr. Bringedal received her PhD (dr. polit.) in sociology from the University of Bergen, Norway in 1997. Her dissertation topic was Distributive Principles in Health Care. Dr. Bringedal is currently a senior researcher at the Research Institute of the Norwegian Medical Association, and a lecturer in International Health Policy, in the Master program in International Social Welfare and Health Policy, at Oslo University. She comes to the Program in Ethics and Health on a year-long leave from these positions with a Harkness Fellow in Health Policy and Practice. While visiting PEH, Dr. Bringedal will continue her research on priority setting and distributive justice as well as medical professionals’ health, behavior, and attitudes in health care.
