S. Andrew Schroeder

Dr. Andrew Schroeder held a post-doctoral fellowship at the Harvard University Program for Ethics and Health from 2009 to 2011. During the fellowship, his research focused on summary measures of population health, specifically the quality-adjusted life year (QALY) and disability-adjusted life year (DALY). Dr. Schroeder looked both at how those measures are constructed and at ethical questions concerning their use in resource allocation decisions.

Dr. Schroeder is currently assistant professor of philosophy at Claremont McKenna College, where he continues to work on questions related to health measurement, while also writing on a number of more general topics in ethics and political philosophy.
