Oliver Rauprich

Dr. Rauprich is the Head of BMBF Junior Research Group "Justice in Modern Medicine" at the Institute for Medical Ethics and History of Medicine at Ruhr-University, in Bochum, Germany, where he is an Assistant Professor in Medical Ethics. He received his PhD in 2001 from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. His thesis was on evolutionary ethics. From 2002-2006, Dr. Rauprich was an Assistant Professor for Medical Ethics, Insitute for History of Medicine and Medical Ethics at the University Erlangen-Nuremberg. During that time, in 2005, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University. His research focuses on four areas: Allocation and Justice in Health Care, Theoretical Foundations of Biomedical Ethics, Public Health Ethics and Evolutionary Ethics.
