S. Andrew Schroeder
Andrew Schroeder received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Harvard in 2009. His dissertation argued that concepts like obligation, permission, right, and wrong aren’t closely related to concepts like good and bad. During the fellowship, Schroeder will examine the case of health care, looking to see if we can make progress on practical problems by being careful to distinguish the two types of moral concepts. Schroeder will also pursue the idea that some duties are best conceived of at a group, rather than individual, level. Contact: schroed@fas.harvard.edu
